Planning with ACCESS SCREENS

ACCESS SCREENS can be configured into almost any desired combination of worktop and screen heights and widths. However by considering the simple guidelines below, the office fitout can be more effective, both for the initial fitout and for future relocations.

Plan different types of workstations to use a standard family of worktops and screens. This reduces the number of different components on site, allowing workstations to be modified as growth and changing needs affect the initial fitout.

Utilise the same depth top for primary worksurfaces and returns. This prevents workstations from being "handed".

To reduce cost, ducting need only be run where services are required. In most cases, ducting running along one side of a workstation is adequate. These ducted panels often form a spline running through a group of workstations carrying cables from a wall feed or power pole.

Screen heights are determined by many factors such as privacy or storage requirements. As a guide, panels less than 1200 high result in a very open office. 1200 high panels allow a computer user to work with minimal distraction yet be able to communicate with a seated line of sight to adjacent workstations. 1350 high panels allow a standing person to communicate with a seated person. 1500 provides a visual block and the minimum height for hanging shelves whilst 1650 gives complete visual privacy and an ideal height for overhead storage.
